Machine Tool Behavior Improvement Using Vibration Neutralizer and Absorber

Tomas Brezina, Lukas Brezina, Jan Vetiska

Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2015, 19(4):6-12 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2015.025

The article proposes an approach to computation of parameters of dynamic vibration neutralizer and absorber in order to suppress machine tool vibrations during machining process. The approach is based on multi-body model of the machine tool in a state space form and additionally attached passive absorber in a parametric state space form. Such a representation is suitable for fast optimizations of the absorber parameters and other numeric experiments with the model. The article presents comparison of optimized dynamic vibration absorber and neutralizer. There were also compared two approaches to the build of the objective function for the balanced improvement...

Possibilities of Utilization Thermally Sprayed Coatings in the Field of Sink Rollers Renovation

Janette Brezinová, Anna Guzanová, Pavlo Maruschak, Juraj Koncz

Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2015, 19(4):14-21 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2015.026

The paper deals with failure analysis of sink rollers used in hot-dip galvanizing of steel sheets. It presents the possibility of renovation the surface of the roller using thermally sprayed coatings. The paper contains results of research focused on quality evaluation of three coatings applied using HVOF technology - WC-Co, WC-NiMoCrFeCo and Co-MoCrSi. There was also investigated impact of sealing agent - boron nitride used for sealing the coating on corrosion rate of the coating. HVOF coatings were subjected to metallographic study with aim to study the structure, thickness, mechanical anchoring and hardness of coatings. There was also realised EDX...

Improvement of the gear production process by automating their strength calculations

Jacek Pacana, Andrzej Pacana, Lucia Bednárová

Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2015, 19(4):22-25 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2015.027

The study presents the creation process and the effects of the calculation script for the bevel gear. The designed script has been prepared with the Python language editor program within the Abaqus software, applying the finite element method (FEM) for the calculations [6, 7]. Its mission is to significantly improve the process of design and testing of the implemented product. Therefore it allows to shorten the manufacturing process and to improve the quality of the product. The prepared script works in such a way, that after importing properly prepared cogged wheel models from any CAD software, the entire process of defining and carrying out the calculations,...

Modifying Effect of Metallic Powder Fillers

Janusz W. Sikora

Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2015, 19(4):26-31 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2015.028

Industry produces many types and varieties of polymers. Often, however, materials with superior processing and functional properties are needed. Their increased diversity or novel properties can be obtained through chemical and physical modification of polymers, reactive processing or preparation of compositions. The article presents an analysis of mechanical and processing properties of products of polypropylene filled with metallic powder fillers, obtained with constant processing parameters. Samples of polypropylene were subjected to uniaxial stretching by a strength testing machine. Changes in the maximum tensile stress and strain depending on...

Magnetic Properties and Morphology of Permalloy Prepared by the Compaction of the Powder

Denisa Olekšáková

Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2015, 19(4):32-36 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2015.029

Permalloy is the name of nickel-iron alloys, which after heat treatment have an initial permeability much larger than that one of pure iron and are produced usually in the form of thin sheet [1]. Therefore it is logical to attempt to prepare such material in more "bulk" form, for example in the form of a cylinder or a ring, which would be more convenient for some industrial applications. The aim of this work was to investigate the influence of the powder size on ac and dc magnetic properties of the bulk samples prepared by a hot compaction of the powder.

Positioning Measurements of Two Industrial Robots

Ákos Cservenák, Tamás Szabó

Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2015, 19(4):38-43 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2015.030

This paper deals with the positioning accuracies of two industrial robots, i.e., a KUKA KR 15/2 and a Fanuc LR Mate 200iC comparing measurement and modeling. The accuracy measurements are performed by Renishaw XL-80 type laser measurement system. Both robots are Articulated Manipulator (RRR), and their descriptions of Denavit-Hartenberg parameters are very similar. The inverse kinematics of the two industrial robots are also solved and analytic formulae are derived. The measurements are carried out along two perpendicular straight lines and the results are compared.

Comparations of the 3D Printing Methods for the Production of the Reporting Medical Models

Peter Sedlačko, Radovan Hudák, Teodor Tóth, Tatiana Kelemenová, Jozef Živčák

Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2015, 19(4):44-48 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2015.031

The paper is focused on the area of manufacturing reporting medical models for verifications of custom made implants before the implantation. The CAD/CAM (computer-assisted design/computer-assisted manufacturing) trend of production of personalized implants supports the use of additive and subtractive production technologies with the creation of reporting medical models. The paper describes a geometrical comparison of four same patterns of the skull manufactured by different 3D printing technologies. It was realized actual-nominal comparison of CT scans of the medical models with CAD design of the skull as a reference. Deviations from the shape identified...

Waste Material Recyclation in Abrasive Water Jet Technologies

Sobotová Lýdia, Badida Miroslav, Karková Monika

Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2015, 19(4):50-55 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2015.032

Recycling as a waste process technology is preferred in terms of environmental protection, today. Water jet technology is friendly and belongs to green technology. It is possible to divide as the paper material to the steel and can be divided into two principal groups described in the contribution. This progressive technology is applied in various sectors of industry. During the cutting operations creates the waste in the forms as polluted water, sludge, used abrasive material and other rest material from the semi- products. This contribution focuses on one type of waste - water. Water is an essential parameter in the process of water jet cutting machine...
