Manuscript Preparation

All manuscripts must be prepared using the official Acta Mechanica Slovaca manuscript template available on the journal website. Manuscripts that do not follow the template may be returned to the authors for technical revision before peer review.

Paper Format: Use A4 paper format with margins of 1.75 cm on all sides.

Formatting / Style: Follow the AMS manuscript style provided in the template available on the journal website. Include the full titles of all cited works in the reference list. Place reference numbers in square brackets [ ] before punctuation, for example, [4] or [1–3]. List all references in a separate section at the end of the manuscript.

Title: The title should accurately describe the content of the manuscript.

Abstract and Keywords: The abstract should consist of a single paragraph of approximately 250 words. It should state the principal objectives and scope of the study, describe the methodology, summarise the results, and present the main conclusions. Provide three to ten keywords immediately after the abstract.

Introduction: The Introduction should review recent literature and provide sufficient background for readers to understand and evaluate the study.

Conclusions: The Conclusions section should present conclusions supported by the Results and Discussion and should not repeat the abstract.

Figures: Number figures consecutively in the order in which they are cited in the text. Cite them as Figure 1, Figure 2, etc., and begin each caption with the corresponding figure number. Prepare figures without borders and on a white background. All figures must be of publication quality. Vector formats, such as PDF, EPS, AI, CDR, or SVG, are preferred for graphs, schematics, diagrams, and line drawings. Submit raster images in TIFF, PNG, or high-quality JPEG format at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi at the final publication size. Line drawings, technical schematics, and graphs should preferably have a resolution of 600 dpi or be supplied as vector graphics. Text, symbols, axes, legends, and units must remain clearly readable at the final publication size. In graphs with multiple curves, distinguish individual curves using symbols or clearly different line styles. Explain all symbols and abbreviations in the figure caption or the text. Figures must not duplicate data presented in tables.

Tables: Number tables consecutively in the order in which they are cited in the text. Cite them as Table 1, Table 2, etc. Each table must have a concise title. In column headings, place units in square brackets after the symbol for the physical quantity. Tables must not duplicate data presented elsewhere in the manuscript.

Units: Use standard SI units, symbols, and abbreviations. Set symbols for physical quantities in italics. Set unit symbols in upright type, for example, m·s⁻¹, K, min, and mm.

Abbreviations: Define each abbreviation in full at first use, for example, variable time geometry (VTG). Explain the meaning and units of all symbols when they are first used, or list them in a nomenclature table before References.

References: which must be cited consecutively in the text using square brackets [1] and collected together in a reference list at the end of the manuscript.

Acknowledgement: of collaboration or preparation assistance may be included before References.
