Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2019, 23(3):6-9 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2019.016
The paper deals with robot, which locomotes inside chimney for cleaning and inspection purposes. Carbon particles are in sediments on inner chimney wall. Chimney has to be periodically cleaned and inspected because of fire risk. Paper introduces concept of service robot for this application. Tracked locomotion has been selected as principle of locomotion inside chimney.
Development of the Knowledge Organization
Beáta Furmannová, Radovan Furmann
Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2019, 23(3):10-17 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2019.017
Organizational development is an increase the effectiveness and viability of the organization through application of knowledge of behavioural sciences. The aim is change of formal and informal structures, processes, work, skills and performance of people, and application of new technologies. Organizational development is used as an overall framework for permanent organizational change and is related to change management and innovation implementation. Organizational development is a purposeful process of change that aims to create an organizational environment for a prosperous knowledge organization. Therefore, it is important to look at the organization...

Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2019, 23(3):18-23 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2019.024
Metal-filled hydrogel films based on polyvinylpyrrolidone with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate copolymers were obtained by centrifugal method. It is determined the influence of the content of metal powder filler, technological parameters of processing and formulation of initial polymer-monomer composition on the physical-mechanical properties of the obtained composition film materials. It was determined that obtained metal-filled films are characterized by the anisotropy of the physical-mechanical properties of surfaces.
Investigation of Injection Shrinkage of Composite Moldings with Mineral Filler
Tomasz Jachowicz, Volodymyr Krasinskyi
Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2019, 23(3):24-29 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2020.003
The paper presents the injection shrinkage of composite moldings with mineral filler phenomenon. The definition of shrinkage and shrinkage types are described. The main factors affecting shrinkage value of injection-molded part are discussed. Based on the experimental tests conducted using injection-molded parts made from polypropylene filled with glass fiber and talc, the dependence of injection-molded part shrinkage on filler content and selected parameters of the injection molding process has been determined.

Alexander Molnar, Vitaly Gerasimov, Anna Badidová
Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2019, 23(3):30-35 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2019.019
The article is devoted to problems of powering embedded devices of "smart clothes". The growth rates of interest in bioenergy energy sources and their variety in the world are shown. The authors analysed the technical and energy indicators of the human body as an energy source for various types of portable devices. The technical characteristics of possible energy converters, which are suitable for this application, are described. Schematic solutions for powering portable devices based on ready solutions are proposed.
Analysis of Metallic Materials used for Manufacturing of Extruders Screws
Anna Dziubińska, Janusz Sikora
Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2019, 23(3):36-41 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2019.023
The article presents a review of metallic materials used for manufacturing of extruders screws. The analysis is carried out for the NEWEX project, which aims to develop and test an innovative extruder [1-2]. The collected knowledge about the materials used to date to produce screws of extrusion machines and methods of increasing their service life will allow to design a new extruder consisting of materials of the highest quality and durability. Currently the screws are usually manufactured from steels for nitriding, heat resisting steels, tool steels and stainless steels. The study provides an analysis of the chemical composition and mechanical properties...
On Coupling of Interface and Phase-field Damage Models for Quasi-brittle Fracture
Roman Vodička
Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2019, 23(3):42-47 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2019.021
Numerical simulations of crack initiation and propagation is presented. Both, interface and material cracks are modelled within the damage theory introducing two independent damage parameters. The interface cracks appearing in an adhesive layer of a contact zone between structural components consider cohesive zone models with general stress-strain relationships implemented in an energetic formulation. Accordingly, the fracture of bulk domains also includes variational consideration and leads to phase-field damage which causes a very narrow band of defected material constituting the actual crack. The proposed computational approach has a variational...
Numerical Analysis of the New Concept of Screw of an Extruder for Polymer Materials
H. Debski, P. Wysmulski
Acta Mechanica Slovaca 2019, 23(3):48-52 | DOI: 10.21496/ams.2020.002
The article introduces an innovative concept of a screw of an extruder used for granulation of polymer materials. Three construction solutions were introduced, differing in the construction parameters of the screw. The scope of the research included the numerical strength-thermal analysis of the introduced construction solutions of the screw. The analysis was conducted using the finite element method. Numerical calculations were a thermally coupled FEM analysis, posing a geometrically and thermally nonlinear problem. The obtained results confirmed the sufficient strength of the structure of the screw, subjected to both the pressure caused by the transport...
