AB  - In the paper are presented results of failure analysis of fixed plate on closing mechanism of press for high pressure die casting of products made of aluminium alloy. On the basis of analysis of operation conditions of press as well as material of damaged fixed plate and their stress analysis by FEM for various loading cases, the conclusions were formulated about possible causes of plate failure.
